Motorcycle User Reviews - 2006 Kawasaki Nomad 1600

My first season with the new bike is up. I bought the bike at the end of May '06 and today is the 6th of December, 2006. I'm pretty bummed out about having to put it up for the winter.

Since the day I purchased this machine, it has run flawlessly. I put 7200 miles on her and enjoyed every mile.

The only changes I have made are a new Mustang seat (you won't regret it) and PhatII handlebar risers. Engine chaps for cold weather riding will be my next investment.

My wife enjoys this bike also. This bike handles like a dream and I feel very confident cornering right to the scrapers.

The bags are great. They hold everything needed. Plus there is a Wal-Mart no farther then a tankful away. I have averaged about 40+ miles to the gallon. I find she runs best on Sunoco 93 Octane. Don't make the mistake of regular unleaded -- she will get hot and ping.

People can say what they want about Harley vs. Japanese but when it comes down to reliability, performance, and looks, the Nomad is all over the Harley. They need to get over being "Proud." Fully loaded with luggage and two people through a mountain pass, this machine will effortlessly walk away from any Harley of the same. "Been there done that."

So if you're considering a new bike don't overlook this one. You'll spend 8000 less and get a lot more compliments even from Harley owners and many more trouble free rides. Thanks for the opportunity to tell you about my bike. -- Murph
