Motorcycle User Reviews - 2006 Honda VFR800 ABS Interceptor

Being middle aged and riding a lot has to factor in with purchasing decisions.

I went with VFR because I needed something that could play with R1s in the curves yet have some comfort to routinely go multi-houred riding without taking breaks.

The VFR is one of those bikes which can do that. The center stand and rear wheel config is one of the great aspects in ease of maintenance.

I haven't really been on any superslab trips, but 14,000 miles in the nine months I've had it, must mean I like it a little bit.

Discounting there's a certain prestige with VFR ownership, what's the bike like?

Starts every time. Likes to cruise around 100 mph. Top speed somewhere around 150 mph. My dirt bike helmet was having issues after 145 mph and I couldn't see.

Other than tires and oil, it's a very reliable bike.

If you need a sportbike yet need more comfort and touring ability, I would be hard pressed to choose a different model, and a faired bike makes it easy to keep clean. That's an extra bonus.

I'm getting mileage of 40-47 MPG with an average around 43. -- Porky786
