Motorcycle User Reviews - 2002 Suzuki Volusia

After some 30 years of being away from any serious riding, I began to look at getting back on the street and found a used 2002 Suzuki Volusia.

The V-twin, saddle bags and thick front wheel allow it to fit in with the Harleys, but the bike (to me) is more forgiving and easier to ride than any Harley I have been on.

The bike has little vibration, the quality of finish is excellent and maintenance is easy with it being a shaft-driven scoot.

In reading a lot of the Volusia forums, there is a lot of assistance available from maintenance to modifications.

Great bike! -- Mike

I bought a used 2002 Volusia about two years ago. It has been awhile since I started riding again. About three years ago, I rode a Honda VLX600 which is a great bike to start on, but for 2-up and mostly the look, it was too small. Very nice bike and reliable, but after checking around, the Volusia caught my eye.

The bottom line is it is a perfect all-around bike. Very reliable, surprising power and balance. I have ridden with friends on large bikes and it blends in great. It looks the same visually and handles better.

To most people, it looks like a Harley Fat Boy (except a lot less money and easier to handle).

This bike is very reliable and will satisfy your needs.

Also, I saw in a magazine, that this bike was rated the best among 800cc bikes. Harley 883 Sportster was the slowest and last on rating. I rode an 883 Sportster and it does lack power.

I hope this is useful when looking for a new bike. -- Bill
