 Motorcycle Views Newsletter

Vol. 8, No. 1, September 28, 2014

Articles of Interest on Motorcycle Views:

I have restarted the Motorcycle Views Newsletter after a 15 month layoff.

Walter KernAs some of you know, I started as the Motorcycles Guide at About.com in 1999. My original site had three pages and three subjects. I grew it over seven and one-half years to a site with 20,000 pages and a newsletter list that contained over 15,000 email addresses. In those days, I issued two newsletters a week, one with general motorcycle article links that led back to the site and one that was forum-related driving people back to comment on my four forums. At one time I had the number one forum on About.com. When I left About.com, I started the Motorcycle Views website using as much of my original content as I could.

I started this newsletter on February 25, 2007, once a week, continuously until June 30, 2013 when I suspended publication. I mentioned at that time that my site, Motorcycle Views, would continue, and it has. I also mentioned that I might be doing some writing, and I have. In fact, I have completed three motorcycle-related paperback books, each with a Kindle edition.

My first book, Getting Started Riding a Motorcycle, was published in 2011 but only as a Kindle edition. It was revised in 2014 and also made available in a paperback edition. Click the following book cover to learn more about the book and how to buy it on Amazon.com.

I then wrote my second book, 50 Wild Motorcycle Tales, also in 2014. This contains a collection of stories that originally were only available on my website. Fifty of these stories were selected, intensively edited, and compiled into the book. The book is available in both paperback and Kindle editions. Click the following book cover to learn more about the book and how to buy it on Amazon.com.

I also collected some motorcycle haiku poems from my website and created my third book, Motorcycle Haiku Poetry, in 2014. This book is also available on Amazon.com in both paperback and Kindle editions. Many riders are unaware of haiku but a surprising number of visitors to my site quickly caught on and submitted their own haiku poems about motorcycles. Haiku is a simple poem of three lines with five syllables on the first and last lines and seven on the second line. They are easy to write and most riders like to read them. I coupled each haiku poem with a motorcycle picture and description that tied into the poem itself. Click the following book cover to learn more about the book and how to buy it on Amazon.com.

Help Grow Motorcycle Views:

The Motorcycle Views Website is here for you. We encourage you to submit a story, picture, poem, salvage yard recommendation, user review of your own bike, tattoo, YouTube video you made of your bike, motorcycle tip, etc. These will be evaluated for inclusion into one of our major features. Send us a submission today and share part of your motorcycling experience with our many readers. Read how to make a submission.

Send In Your Pictures:

We love pictures of your motorcycles. Even better is a picture of you with your bike. We also like descriptions of bikes so tell us all about your bike. What accessories do you have? For New Subscribers:

Expect newsletters on Sunday afternoon every other week.

Please understand that the newsletter is NOT the site. It's a way to provide a few links to content on the Motorcycle Views site. Once you click a link in the newsletter, you'll be getting access to content on the Motorcycle Views site.

Thanks for signing up for the Motorcycle Views Newsletter. Using this Newsletter, I'll keep you up-to-date with what's going on in the Motorcycle Views Blog, the Motorcycle Views Web site, and the Motorcycle Views Forum. Not sure what a blog is? It's like a daily readout of what I'm thinking about, similar to a diary at times. Most often, I'm using mine right now to tell my visitors what has been added to the Motorcycle Views site.

See me on Facebook, Twitter, Google+, Pinterest, and YouTube.

My website, forum, and blog are all available on your tablet or smartphone in a new format.
