47 Years of Harley-Davidson Sportster - Gallery Picture

This is my 1980 Harley-Davidson XLH-1000 Sportster which is all stock. It has 6500 actual miles. When I say all stock, I mean it still has the original chain and sprockets, pipes, seat, everything. The engine is all stock, as well as air cleaner and carb. It spent 7 years of its life enjoying central heat and air with the first owner. I am the fourth owner. The person I bought it from only rode it 405 miles the two years he owned it. I have had a time getting all the "gremlins" fixed that resulted from it not being ridden. I have 600 miles on it since the first of the month (October 2002) and I plan on riding year round -- pleasure only. The only thing I have done to it has been gremlin exorcism and riding it. I have no plans of trying to make it into a later model or different brand, and don't plan on driving it through any chrome puddles. -- David Little
