Defect Summary:
On certain motorcycles, the horizontal and vertical cylinders mobile timing belt tensioner is dimensionally incorrect.
Consequence Summary:
The mobile tensioner can come into contact with the timing belt cover which could cause the timing belt to fail and consequently stop the engine increasing the risk of a crash.
Corrective Summary:
Dealers will replace the existing mobile timing belt tensioner using updated components. The recall is expected to begin during April 2007. Owners may contact Ducati at 1-408-253-0499.
