Defect Summary:
BMW is recalling 1,391 model year 2007 G650X Challenge, Country, and Moto motorcycles. The fuel lines may have been damaged during production, and could develop a leak. The leak could occur either through the fabric inlay at the end of the line, or, through a crack in the actual line.
Consequence Summary:
Fuel leakage, in the presence of an ignition source, could result in a fire.
Corrective Summary:
Dealers will inspect and replace the fuel lines free of charge. The recall is expected to begin during March 2008. Owners may contact BMW at 1-800-831-1117.
