Motorcycle User Reviews - 2002 BMW R1150RT After four years of infatuation, disenchantment and disillusionment, I finally had to make one of those hard choices in life...those rites of passage, those growing pains of maturity when the promise and the reality don't jibe...when 1 + 1 no longer equates to 2. The 2002 BMW RT was a prototype prematurely thrust upon the market and the unsuspecting yet trusting public of fans and optimists...and denied by the corporate entity as such. It's my understanding that several of the problems may have been remedied by 2005 dual spark and subsequent product offerings, but to this consumer, the damage has already been done. Fool me once, shame on you...fool me twice, shame on me. I will not give BMW another chance to rendezvous with me at a level of honor and respect in expectation...I held up my end...BMW fell short. BMW has lost one customer for all eternity. I no longer believe in yet another myth. Santa Claus...the Lone Ranger...and now Bavaria are on my list of disappointments. I traded that piece of crap for a Triumph before it had lost all of its $16+K investment and became a millstone around my neck. So far, the 2007 Triumph Bonneville T100 has lived up to expectation...but that's a subject for another review. I bought the BMW on reputation...I sold it on pragmatic reality. The Emperor has no clothes... butt naked and delusional. -- Rick Modery User Reviews for Other BMW Models
