Motorcycle User Reviews - 2005 Suzuki Boulevard C50

The C50 is my sixth bike. My first four, all owned and ridden in the 60s and in the order I owned them, were an 80 cu. in. Indian, a Harley Sportster, a Matchless 500 and a Honda (don't remember the model or displacement - just that it was considerably smaller than the other three). After graduating from college and getting married, I decided riding was neither affordable nor sane.

In 2003, after having been married (and divorced) twice, and retired, it occurred to me I missed riding and there was no person or reason not to take it up again. I purchased a beautiful purple Honda Shadow VLX 600. It was perfect for reintroducing myself to biking and for taking the basic and experienced rider's safety courses (which EVERY rider should do). But after two years and 1800 miles, I'd outgrown it, and homed in on a Suzuki C50.

Now with more than 7000 miles on the C50, I am happy to say I've not ridden a sweeter machine. The ride is great, the handling is great, the sound is great, the price was right, etc.

The ONLY regret that I have is I wish it had a bit bigger engine, although I rarely think this until I've ridden more than 200 miles in a given day.

Considering the fun-to-cost ratio, I don't think the C50 can be beat! -- Syncro
