Motorcycle User Reviews - 2006 Honda Shadow VT750

I've just bought a new Shadow VT750 after reading all the reviews I could about the machine. I'm only 5'1" so the very low saddle is ideal for my short stature. I needed a bigger bike as I plan to visit my daughter who lives 150 miles away. I had a Kawasaki Eliminator 250cc which I traded in against it. I have only had it for two days so I will tell you what I can.

The V-twin engine sounds great. It has a nice rumble to it and it pulls well. It's quite a long machine but is very well balanced. The handlebars come back to meet you and the saddle is very comfortable. Once you get used to having your legs stretched out in front of you, it feels like sitting in an armchair.

It has a shaft drive so there is no maintenance needed. The tank is wide and houses the speedo and mileometer (odometer) which has digital readout. I do miss having a rev counter though.

One gripe I do have is that the air cleaner sticks out and gets in the way of your right knee. Anyone taller would find it even more annoying I would think.

There is a lot of chrome and also plastic that looks like chrome. It's a great looking bike. -- Pauline
