Move a Motorcycle Without Starting It

Locate the Gear Shift Lever

The gear shift lever is located on the left side of the motorcycle just in front of the foot peg where the rider places his or her foot. See the picture, below, that shows the location.

You'll be using the gear shift lever later on to find neutral.

  1. How Do I Move a Motorcycle?

  4. Turn ON the Ignition
  5. Depress the Clutch Lever
  6. Shift Into Neutral
  7. Check the Neutral Indicator Light
  8. Release the Side Stand
  9. Grasp Right Hand Grip and Front Hand Brake Lever
  10. Move the Motorcycle
