Vintage, Antique, and Classic Motorcycles - Harley-Davidson

Was trying to find a color image of this bike, or get the colors for it. This is my father on his "Harley" we believe it is from 1954. Anyway, I'm guessing the bike was a dark red. Also was wondering about the eagle fender ornament on this bike, if it is actually something Harley put on it, or if it is something accessorized by my father. Has beautiful saddle bags on it, and this is my father, Ellis B. Emery, on it. He passed away in 2005. Anyway, I'm going to colorize this photo using photoshop if I can figure out the bike colors for the time and get them as close as possible. And if it is really a "Harley" as my mother says it was. If anyone can send me any detailed information on this bike, I'd greatly appreciate it (djemery1@earthlink.net). My father was shipped to Vietnam when he was drafted in the early 60s and this Harley or "motorcycle" was stolen from him while he was overseas. Hope you can help me learn more about this motorcycle. -- Dwight J. Emery
