58 Years of Indian Motorcycles: A Motorcycle Picture Gallery

Indian motorcycle pictures are presented from the first prototype model in 1901 to the present. These Indian motorcycle pictures are submitted by Motorcycle Views visitors.

A motorcycle picture gallery called "58 Years of Indian Motorcycles" is provided that gives a picture and description for each model year from 1901 to 2003.

Indian began making motorcycles in 1901 as the Hendee Manufacturing Company. The first production model was in 1902 and 143 units were produced. In 1903 376 motorcycles were sold. It continued production through 1953 when it no longer made the classic Indian. In 1999 Indian motorcycles were again produced, this time by the Indian Motorcycle Corporation. This was not the same company but it did have rights to the Indian name and trademarks.

One of the biggest features on the Motorcycle Views site is Moto Pics, where visitors to the site can display and describe their motorcycles. There are a few Indians in Moto Pics. To get the new gallery going, I have extracted my favorite Indian pictures from Moto Pics and from the old site.

We Need Your Help

There are still many years in the gallery without a picture. That's where you come in. We want you to help us complete this gallery by submitting a picture and description of your Indian -- the older the better. These pictures may be of Indian motorcycles that belonged to your family members in the past. Just be sure of the the year and model of each Indian. These pictures will also become part of the Moto Pic Gallery. There will only be one picture for each year placed in the "58 Years of Indian Motorcycles" gallery. Since I am continually reviewing the best picture for each year, new submissions for a year already listed may bump the current picture.

Note that the gallery will be expanded when the newest Indian Company begins selling new models for the 2009 year. We will be using larger pictures for new submissions. For the time being, I will be keeping the same title.
