Motorcycle User Reviews - 2008 Kawasaki KLR650

I have 9500 km on my bike and have found it very dependable and a lot of fun to ride. I went on a long tour (4700 km) and the only problem was that the seat didn't have all-day comfort.

I cruise at a fairly steady 125 km/hr and the bike handles it with no problem.

It is a lot of fun on a twisty road.

Handles great and on one run I got 73 mpg.

It is geared very tall and 5000 rpm gives you 125 km/hr.

That seat needs some work. I am thinking of trying out the gel insert but I think it just needs to be a little bit wider.

Love the back rack which allows you to attach tail bags or whatever you need securely. Normal use I have twist tied a collapsible plastic milk crate which I keep flat until I need to haul groceries, beer etc. and it just pops up and there you go. I used a Kuryakyn Tail bag (large) on the trip and it works great. Two heavy duty bungees and away you go.

I recommend this bike to anyone who sees motorcycles as a real world alternative to the cruiser poser bikes. I saw a lot of Harleys on my trip and I passed them all. -- Dan
